Europe's heart beats in Riga!

Once upon a time we asked several people what they thought about this magical phrase we took as slogan for our wonderful event. For around 1,5months, day by day you could find out what comes to different people minds when they hear this phrase:

Now the last time on FB and webpage all thoughts together J

Hope you will enjoy.

Today Europe’s heart beats in Riga

What they think about it? No censorship…J

Nati Hubert, ex-NetCom

“Sorry, but when I hear Riga and heartbeats the only thing which comes to my mind is... Stereolove! :D

Ambrus Csermak, AEGEE-Budapest

“Sitting in a square on a bench (not on grass, it is forbidden), drinking my Zelta Alus (bier) and gazing at the beautiful buildings at the northern meeting point of the Eastern-Western culture. (and my secret girlfriend too, of course ;))”

Miguel García Soria, AEGEE-Alicante

“I think Riga is the center of Europe, but actually isn’t it??? Take care girls!!!”

Thomas Leszke, Project Director AEGEE-Europe

“What comes to my mind?

Ø "Riga? That's quite far in East."

Ø "I have never been to Riga, curious if it fits in my picture of Europe."

Ø "This EBM will be my nightmare anyway; I don't care about the motto." :-P”

Marika Heymann, ex-NetCom, AEGEE-Poznan

“First that comes to my mind is that Riga is the centre of Europe (at some point). My flatmate thinks the same:-)“

Kairi Püss, ex-NetCom, AEGEE-Tallinn

“:-) something very important is happening in the biggest capital of Baltic countries!”

Patrick Hanckmann, AEGEE-Academy

I had to think about this video clip.”

Anni Korts-Laur, AEGEE-Tallinn

“It's like every normal heart functions. Vision people as blood in the Europe's circulation, they go around Europe and never forgot to visit Riga (Europe's heart) again. It becomes a routine and healthy habit. Been there once and makes you want to visit again. Works for me! :D”

Fabian Vendrig, AEGEE - Tilburg

“Riga, city on the schism between West and East, so in the middle of Europe :-)”

Rok Mihevc, BEST -Ljubljana

“Heart surgery students from Europe are meeting in Riga? Or maybe European folklore music festival.”

Frederic Renisch, AEGEE-Mannheim

“…my answer: "Can't you feel the heartbeat? Latvian girls are damn hot, man! :)"

Mariusz Halaczek, ex-NetCom, AEGEE-Warsawa

“For me it means that Riga is full of passion and hospital people :-D. You just can't resist Riga :P”

Marit Veeber, AEGEE-Tartu

“First things what come to mind? The vibrant nightlife and the fact that it's so easy to get to Riga from anywhere in Europe :)”

Ildikó Ferencsik, AEGEE-Budapest

“ES1 and now the EBM of course ;)”

David Alvarez, AEGEE-Oviedo

“SMILE IS FREEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

COME ONNNNNNNNN!!!!!”

Agnes Szanto, AEGEE-Budapest

“The typical church and the cat on the roof.”

Evren Massimo Erdener, ex-Secretary General AEGEE-Europe

“Riga is not in the center of Europe, but The Heart beats are clearly heard as it is an important Part of EUROPE.”

E.Joonas Antton, AEGEE-Turku

“Honestly, first thing is that what is behind this. So confusion. Then thinking that well, in fact, Riga is a very old city. Third, it is one of those tourist book sentences.”

And finally 5 reasons why you should come to Riga:

Wouter IJgosse, Members Commission, Former Chair

Signing of contract EBM 2011 Riga in Agora Istanbul

“Girls told me that I should give you five reasons why to come to EBM in Riga:

First – Riga is very pretty city, so enjoy it before or after EBM.

Second – I know that you like these folk dances, I have seen these dances.

Third – this event is in a northern country. There are a lot of things what will attract people from the other parts of Europe: there will be cheap drinks for the people from Eastern Europe, lots of girls for the ones from Southern Europe and since it's a statutory event lot of procedures and rules for the Western Europeans.

Fourth – you like to go the beach and you like snow. In this event in February on the Baltic Sea you can have snow on the beach and walk on a frozen sea.

Fifth – the most important reason – these girls are so enthusiastic! One of the small examples how you can see it is the fact that they were putting EBM stickers everywhere in the gym.”

Big tnx to everybody who took part :)
